As part of Professional Marketing International’s annual blood drive this past August, PMI pledged to make a donation for the company with the highest participation to the charity of their choice. The majority of blood drive participants came from within PMI, so they were able to choose to send their donation to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Primary Children’s Hospital is a nonprofit health care establishment that is able to offer care to children, many of whom couldn’t afford it, because of the charitable donations of time and money made by people in the area. Since the mid 1800′s, Primary Children’s Hospital has been dedicated to serving children and putting “the child first, always”.
Because of its affiliation with the University of Utah’s School of Medicine’s department of pediatrics, Primary Children’s has become one of the top children’s hospitals in the U.S. for complex illnesses and injuries. Children from all across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, and Montana are served at Primary Children’s, regardless of their ability to pay.
Primary Children’s Hospital is part of the Intermountain Healthcare (IHC) network. In 2007, IHC provided more than $154,258,000 in free care to 13,269 patients and their families that were unable to pay.
This August, because of the generosity of donations during the annual blood drive, PMI was able to contribute to Primary Children’s Hospital’s ongoing legacy of selfless charity and service.
