At Professional Marketing International, we feel we have both the great opportunity and responsibility to set an example of giving in our community. Not only do we encourage our employees to give by hosting charity events, but we encourage the local community to get involved by making our events open to the public and by doing our best to get the word out. We support charities because it makes the world a better place for everyone. Taking part in charitable giving helps people to expand their worldview, and when people are more aware of what others around them are going through, they become better, more involved citizens.
Although it doesn’t always benefit our bottom line, at PMI we feel that the monetary sacrifice of hosting events and personally supporting local and national charities is worth it. We have seen friendships built during service projects and many of the charities we support directly benefit the families of our employees. Last month PMI hosted a blood drive, this month we are hosting a food drive, and in the next few months we will be donating to a sub for Santa program in our community.
It’s easy for people to get stuck going through the everyday motions and worrying about their own problems without paying much attention to the people in their own neighborhoods that are going hungry, or doing without the help they need. At PMI, we believe that giving to the community, and encouraging our employees to do the same, benefits not only the people we serve, but the people that do the serving. We have the unique opportunity to make our communities better by donating and by drawing attention to causes that we believe in, and we intend to do so for years to come.
